I do those first two assignments in my un...Irv,<br /> I do those first two assignments in my undergraduate teaching writing class, though they are not done in class. This semester I had the students write their writing experience paper as a collage. Then they read each other's collages and did an essay analyzing what they had read. I think I'll do something similar in FYC next semester, considering your approach.
